National Reconciliation Week 2020: 27 May – 3 June

Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples (Source: National Reconciliation Week 2020).

The 2020 theme for National Reconciliation Week (NRW), In This Together, encourages all Australians to reflect on the part they play – whether big or small – on our journey towards reconciliation.

During Reconciliation Week, we recognise the resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, in particular the work of NCIRS National Indigenous Immunisation Coordinator Katrina Clark. A proud Barkindji woman, Katrina is passionate about ensuring equity of access to vaccination for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We also recognise our collaborators across Australia who are working toward better health for all Indigenous people.

In the current COVID-19 pandemic environment, the NRW 2020 theme is particularly pertinent and there are many ways for all Australians to connect and participate in the week virtually. Reconciliation Australia has developed a list of 20 ways to be in this together in 2020.
