New resource - Measles vaccines for Australians fact sheet

A new NCIRS fact sheet – Measles vaccines for Australians – has been developed for healthcare professionals.

There has been a marked increase in measles cases globally in 2018 and 2019 caused by major outbreaks in many areas of the world. Australia, like several other countries, has seen outbreaks from imported cases, highlighting the need for protection through measles vaccination.

This fact sheet summarises key information about measles epidemiology, clinical features, complications and vaccination recommendations for protection against the disease. It adds to a wide range of resources we have to inform healthcare professionals about vaccine-preventable diseases. Visit NCIRS fact sheets, FAQs and other resources page to access ‘Measles vaccines for Australians’ fact sheet and other resources.
