Multiple vaccinations for children – new NCIRS resource

NCIRS has developed a new resource to support conversations between healthcare professionals and families about administering multiple vaccinations for children at the same time.

It is safe for children to have more than one vaccine at once. A child’s immune system is very strong, and so having more than one vaccine at the same appointment does not overwhelm it. Most side effects following vaccination are mild and resolve within a few days – and vaccinating on time gives children the best protection.

The resource addresses a number of frequently asked questions and provides links to further information, including Australian vaccine safety data, details on the childhood immunisation schedule and useful resources for families.
