The five-year Strategic Plan for NCIRS for 2019–2023 outlines how we plan to build on our success and position as a cornerstone support for immunisation research, surveillance, policy and programs in Australia.

We will continue to work closely with our many partners at national, state, local and increasingly international levels to maximise our collective impact on reducing vaccine preventable disease.

Our three strategic focus areas are to:

  1. strengthen our core programs of work to be as efficient and effective as possible
  2. ensure that NCIRS, underpinned by our expert staff, is sustainable into the future
  3. expand our reach through select initiatives that foster further impacts in disease prevention.

Our work is aligned with the objectives set by the Australian Government’s National Immunisation Strategy 2019–2024 and the World Health Organization’s Global Vaccine Action Plan 2011–2020.
