It includes: SKAI Healthcare Professionals, which provides access to a range of vaccination communication resources, including factsheets, tools and training materials that can be used by both individuals and teams SKAI Pregnancy & Newborn, which offers information about the vaccines recommended for pregnant women and their newborn babies, as well as about the diseases they prevent. This content was first published by the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute SKAI Childhood, which features information about the vaccines recommended as part of the National Immunisation Program (NIP) and provides answers to common questions about vaccine safety, common side effect, risks and benefits, and more. Access the SKAI resources here Supporting conversations about vaccinations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people This page is for immunisation providers (GPs, nurses, pharmacists) providing vaccinations to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. The purpose of this page is to provide you with information and resources that help you to have supportive, culturally appropriate vaccination conversations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. While we focus here on influenza vaccination, the principles can be applied to other vaccinations. Access this resource here Multiple vaccinations for children resource This resource supports conversations between healthcare professionals and families about administering multiple vaccinations for children. The resource addresses a number of frequently asked questions and provides links to further information, including Australian vaccine safety data, details on the childhood immunisation schedule and useful resources for families. Access this resource here Strategies to increase vaccination uptake Tree of community informed strategies to increase childhood vaccination rates This resource provides a visual summary of some practical strategies (in tree foliage) that health services may want to use to improve childhood vaccination rates in communities with known socioeconomic disadvantage and little ideological opposition to vaccination. Immunisation stakeholders across Australia are invited to use and adapt the ‘tree’ to their local needs when designing tailored strategies to help more families get their children vaccinated on time. Strategies included in the tree are not meant to be exhaustive; there may be other localised strategies helpful in addressing childhood undervaccination. Access this resource hereAccess print-ready version here Communicating with people who are unvaccinated against COVID-19 This resource provides a brief summary of perspectives on COVID-19 vaccines from unvaccinated adults living in Australia who were interviewed in late 2021. Informed by these findings, social science researchers at NCIRS and the University of New South Wales, Sydney developed recommendations to help improve communication between health authorities, providers, unvaccinated individuals and their friends and families.
