Updated NCIRS immunisation resources

We have updated a few of our immunisation resources to reflect the latest changes in the availability of vaccines and related advice. These include:

Zoster vaccines for Australians fact sheet and Zoster vaccines: Frequently Asked Questions resources

These resources have been updated to include new and updated information for immunisation providers about: 

  • Shingrix - the new zoster vaccine that is now available in Australia
  • who should be vaccinated
  • which vaccine should be used
  • contraindications to vaccination.

The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has also released a statement on the clinical use of zoster vaccine in older adults in Australia. Access this statement here.
