Future vaccinations after a serious adverse event following immunisation

It can be challenging to work out what to do with future vaccinations (of the same vaccine or other vaccines) after having a serious AEFI. However, there are specialist immunisation services in each state or territory that can assist. 

Complex cases can also be referred from specialist immunisation services to the Adverse Events Following Immunisation Clinical Assessment Network (AEFI-CAN). AEFI-CAN connects vaccine safety and immunisation services across Australia to inform how AEFIs are assessed and managed.
