Shane is a communications and marketing leader with extensive experience across the healthcare, science and research, education, government and not-for-profit sectors. He has a proven track record in developing and executing integrated brand strategies, driving positive social change, promoting translational research and developing industry education. Throughout his career, Shane has developed high-impact campaigns such as Myopia Awareness Week and the Myopia 2050 international media campaign, in partnership with the World Health Organization. His leadership at the Brien Holden Vision Institute and O&M Halyard saw him manage global marketing strategies, enhance brand presence and spearhead innovative digital initiatives.
Madeleine is a media and communications professional with experience in healthcare and public service settings, both in Australia and the United Kingdom. Madeleine returns to NCIRS after a two-year period working in the communications team at world-renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, an international centre of excellence in child healthcare. During this time Madeleine was responsible for sharing the life-changing care and treatment that the hospital delivers. Madeleine is passionate about clear and purposeful communication that connects people and drives impact.
Jackson Young joined NCIRS in 2021. He has extensive experience working in government-funded health organisations, where he has implemented and led a wide range of marketing and communications initiatives in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Dylan Maiden joined NCIRS in 2023. He has over 15 years of experience in medical writing, creative direction, and leading the development and implementation of multi-dimensional marketing and communications strategies in collaboration with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, software development, not-for-profit and government stakeholders.
Scott Mair has worked as a graphic and web designer throughout his varied career, which has had a strong focus on communications. He specialises in effective content deployment across the digital landscape.
Nidhi Sodhi joined NCIRS as Publishing Officer in 2024. She is an accomplished science communicator who has extensive experience in scientific and medical publishing, most recently as the Managing Editor for Medicine Today. She has a background in microbiology and has previously worked in and managed a number of research laboratories.
